Sri T. H. Subash Chandran comes from a highly respected family of musicians. He learned directly from his father Shri T R Hari Hara Sharma, who is also a great teacher and direct disciple of Tanjore Shri Vaidyanatha Iyer who?s tradition followed by most of the mridangists today. Subash has also learned from Ghatam Vidwan Shri K M Vaidynathan and Palghat Shri Ramachandra Iyer. Subash has carried this great ancient cultural treasure from the above great masters of South Indian Classical Percussion and passed them on to many of his disciples who are also passing them on to their students in continuing the lineage of the great cultural heritage of Indian Classical Music.
